Our Jeans ; Their Dinner.

I just caught the end of what was an eye-opening documentary.
China Blue directed by Micha X. Peled. He was in one the Chinese jean-making factory.
He followed the story of a young girl named Jasmine who was working in a jean making factory that get shipped off to Wal-Mart.

At the end words came up on the screen that read "while youve been watching this, Jasmine and two other girls have made 50 pairs of jeans ready for shipping. Theyve made $1.47 altogether."

How sad is that! But its not only the retailers' bad, its ours too - the consumer.
"Its not my country, its not my problem, i dont have to be there"

Well, if they just decided they didnt want to make our fancy clothes anymore and left the factory, then where would you be left? Lucky for us, they cant do that, or they'll have nothing to live on.

I speak for myself too so....

"Better to be lowly in spirirt with the oppressed than to share plunder with the proud" Proverbs 16:19.

They Say the World is getting Better.

How exactly is the world changing for the better? And who exactly is the world getting better for?

Is it for the Western World, where everybodys getting new houses, nicer cars, improved technology that reduces work people have to do? More interesting News stories? More strip bars? Bars with topless waiters? Teenage girls getting pregnant at 14 because they aren't taught any thing but the 'protection' of the condom in health? More liquor outlets, more murders, more crime, more corrupt politicians?
Is this what they mean by the world changing for the better?

Or is it for the eastern world where there is constant rivalry, usually against a country who it is unnesecary for them to have started a war with!
Or maybe they mean for the children 26,500-30,000 that die each day due to poverty, yeah that must be it.

We are getting too comfortable in our own waste. We're like an adult in an unchanged diaper, just sitting on our behinds all day not caring that we have a nasty situation on our hands!
"We'll leave it to the political leaders" Political Leaders? Without our support, they cant do much. They have the authority, we just need to give them the power.

Nearly half the world, HALF THE WORLD- that's 3 billion people almost- live on less than TWO DOLLARS a day. Two dollars a day. TWO dollars a day! And to think I waste $20 some days on junk food.

The richer get richer. The poorer get poorer.
The world is falling to pieces, and there's only one way it can be put back together.
